Muskox & My MOHAWK !!
« on: June 01, 2010, 10:48:00 PM »
OK only Quiviut string silencers, but man do they work, For 20 years I've been a cat whisker guy {simplicity} 1/2 on each end, short, This MOHAWK is a thumper with Boo & Osage, loves heavy arras, but had a little of that "Osage Twang" ... Not anymore, these really work & look pretty good also, at $12.00 a pair, aint cheap, but I love em ...

Adam,
I like it too, I cut the string holding them together and split them up and had enough for 5-6 bow strings. You may be surprised how little material it takes to make a longbow silent.

That's the silencer I'm about to order for mine, but see Alaska BowHunt and 3Rivers at $16.95 a set. Where are the $12.00 pair from?
Good to hear the high praise, 3R says "maybe the best out there".

I like them as well.....just a bit pricy.....but I think I'll have my wife duplicate them as she has a stash of the stuff just waiting for something to be knitted from it.  Bought it from the AK University farm and she hasn't made a thing from it.  Besides, silencers won't use much of it.

Oh yea, when they are new, you spend a bit of time sucking up stray fibers after each shot.  It looks like it's snowing hair!

Hayslope if you sneak out enough I could use an extra set or two...lol

God bless,Mudd

PS: I hope she didn't have to give as much for it as we do for a set of silencers..lol

I got mine from Alaska Bowhunting Suppy (sponsor) but I think several others might carry them too. I am sure 3 Rivers does.
