Gun, welcome to TX. Drink lotsa water and wear the hats, cotton shirts, etc. you see the guys mowing lawns here wearing, they know what they are doing. Oh, and stay in the shade every chance you get, you will be fine. Lots of good folks in TX, and you will enjoy it here. Nightowl1 is right, you will not begin to see most of TX even if you try real hard. If you take the distance from the TX state line north of Amarillo down to Brownsville (in the Rio Grande "Valley") and flip that distance north one time you will be just a couple of hours drive time south of Manitoba! Take in some of those suggestions while you are in Houston where it almost never snows!
