carbon match?
« on: June 05, 2010, 06:29:00 PM »
I have some Lagacy 2016, cut to 29", 100grn tips. Just wondering about a comparable match with carbons. I like Gold Tip Tradionals. Any suggestions will be appreciated

The GT 35/55 spine is 0.500.  The 2016 spine is 0.531.  You may have to play with your point weight a little but the 35/55 should work for you.

The 3555 will be about 50 grains lighter than the 2016, so you should get a little more zip out of it.

I concur, the .500 carbons are a great match for 2016 shooters.  Even though the .500's are a tad stiffer it tends to be offset by the fact most archers will use  heavier points with the carbons to get their overall weight back up a bit.

I believe you will find the 3555's a bit stiff for your set-up unless you go quite a bit heavier with point weight.
