Had a great time today!
« on: June 26, 2010, 11:07:00 PM »
Actually it started yesterday the moment I pulled in and threw my stuff out.

I was greeted with a big bear hug and a welcoming smile by my good friend and buddy Butch. Dave was there already as well as Ron. Kids were running around all over the place with their bows. What a great family gathering.

It wasn't long before the smell of fish frying filled the air. That always draws a crowd!!

I'd like to thank Ron and Dennis for being the cooks of some tasty fish and hush puppies. I didn't allow myself to taste the hush puppies but I could tell by the smell they were premium.

Ron was very accommodating to my attempt at staying on my diet and fried me some fish without breading. With just a little seasoning and I know I enjoyed mine as much as anyone there.

You betcha!!!!!!

Did a little trading too!!..lol

Came home to find a bow that had been shipped on the 19th finally arrived. 68" 40@28 Solo.

I shot 3 arrows out of it then went to the lazy-boy and did a little pre-sleep for a couple of hours. That heat and humidity takes it out of or on your body.

I feel all rested up now and am looking forward to watching "The Book of Eli". I think this is the movie with a tradgangers bow in it but I could be wrong.

God bless,Mudd

That pre-sleep is the best part of becoming a "seasoned" tradganger. Glad you had fun.    :)

Heat and humidity, ha... come on down another 5 or 600 miles south where the Gulf moisture fills the air. Sometimes I think we need gills. However, I agree it does take the sap right out of you.

I have been seeing the previews of that movie... does it really have a tradgangers bow in it for real?

It's always a good time with those folks Mudd.

Michael.... not meaning to be argumentative, but I just checked your humidity and it's up there at 53% (went down 1% while I watched).
Then I checked here at home...74%. What do ya know.

Your right Charlie... we just had a "great" clearing out cool spell. It has been fantastic this weekend, but not normal.

I did not take it as argumentative, but conversational.

Michael...It's kinda like whatever state you might be in they say "if you don't like the weather...wait a minute."

Not only that, but every state I've ever been in had a dam that divers wouldn't go back to because of the huge catfish that could swallow a Volkswagon.

That's just silly. That catfish is at Kerr Dam, down along the VA/NC border...

NOBODY noodles there!

Killy... I don't know what the UBM does right, but they don't seem to be cursed by the weather (other than heat and humidity) like Comptons and Cloverdale.

Roy, did Jerry Baumann make it to the gathering?
