Fish for a friend
«

My friend Eric owns and runs his own business, a Chinese Restaurant here in Ashland.
The other day as I understood Eric he was wanting some fresh fish for him and his family.
I had a choice today, mow grass or go bowfishing?
I decided that I'd rather try to fulfill Eric's need for fresh fish. The water is still backed up and the carp were in there pretty good grazing through like cattle.
This isn't the only one I hit but it is the only one I landed. There were a few shots I thought I had lost my arrow. I got hung up on trees underwater regularly.
I had to go by myself but even so it was way more fun than mowing grass...lol
Thanks for your time!
God bless,Mudd

Good show, Mudd. That's a lot better than just letting them rot on the streambank.

I bet we could all learn something from that guy. I used to fish for shad in Easton Pa. There would often be a few oriental men there with nets waiting to net your fish for you and keep them if you didnt want them. They loved em. Same with carp everyone "knows" their no good to eat but how many of us have made an honest attempt at cooking and eating one. No one I know. Werent carp introduced here in the states as a sport/food fish?

Don't worry I have your back. This time of year the grass gets too hot to cut.Doesn't do well when you cut it too much. Just keep bowfishing and have fun.

Mowing the grass only encourages it to grow faster; at least that's my personal opinion! Not to mention, mowing stresses it out; and the more you mow it, the more you stress it. So, to minimize stress to your lawn, you should do something other than mow, say something like bowfishing? Besides, it is more important to feed your fellow man than it is to cut grass.
You done good Mudd!

I have and will continue to eat carp.
This past weekend I had some smoked carp that would make you slap your own grandmother if she put he hand near your plate..lol
I had a friend fry up some "Big Head" for me and I would dare anyone to turn it down if offered to them. I couldn't make it taste any better if it had been walleye or crappie.

Mudd, that's what I call winning all around:
Eric and family got their fresh fish for dinner,
Mudd got in some quality time with recurve and Mr. Carp,
and letting grass grow taller helps reduce global warming (OK, I made that one up, but the first two are true)
Mudd is a good friend to have

Mudd,
Do you ever smoke the carp yourself? Any recipes? I ate a sucker one time, cooked over an open fire, but I was seriously impaired at the time. I'd like to give some of the so called rough fish an honest attempt in the near future.
