Sam Houston National Forest = 161,000 acres
You'd need a $48 APH (annual public lands permit) and a 5 day nonresident special hunting license (which is an additional $48) for a total of $96.
If you were born after 1971 you will also need hunters education certificate (but for a $10 fee I belive you are allowed to waive that hunters education requirement for one time only)
Good luck!
