Durability is the main difference.  Secondaries will wear out faster.

I've found they both fly well if the bow is tuned.I think the secondaries are a little quieter.

I like a good primary on my hunting shafts, but I will use secondary on some target and stumping arrows. Primary last longer, and are stiffer.  In some cases though like going through brush and under limbs in an open top quiver or bow quiver, they can make more noise than a secondary, because the secondaries will lay down easier.

don't much care whether primary or secondary as long as the feather has the proper length and barb stiffness.  so for me, they all work out well - particular feathers of the canada goose flavor.  :)

My experience is the same as Don's.  Secondary feathers are too soft/noisy for me--same reason I don't use Canada goose feathers.

Secondary feathers are a little noisy, and they don't have the oil lines that primary feathers do so they won't take the wet weather as well. They  are good for target/3-d feathers but thats all i use them for. Bill
