measuring the string?
« on: July 05, 2010, 10:06:00 PM »
I need a new string for my long bow and I had to twist it alot to get the brace height where it shot good.  With the bow strung where do i measure from?  outside to outside?  thanks

I would unstring it, lay the string flat, and measure from outside of string loop to the outside of the string loop.

Be careful and not let the string unwind. This will be your actual string length.

Or if the (AMO/ATA) length is written on the Bow just subtract 3" from that number and that should be real close to what you need.
