Was wondering how much scouting does everyone do in the heat of the summer.

Lots of evening long range scouting with the bino's from the air conditioned truck! This time of year I love to watch the bachelor groups of bucks in the bean fields just to see whats out there.

Im the same way, binos and a truck.  Just started my foot work this past weekend, cleaning up blinds and shootin lanes, found some new trees that stands are soon to go up in, and put out three old trail cams.  Never used trail cams before, these were givin to me and im nervous about the flash spookin the deer.

Stumping and scouting go hand in hand.  Our deer and elk live in heavy brush in my area.  You have to bore in find their travel areas, feeding areas, and bedding areas early on so you know where to hunt them when season comes.

I finished up yesterday with trimming trees for climbers and trimming shooting lanes. Have over 20 stand sites ready to go. I will try to stay out of all those areas till first of Sept. (month before season opens). Then I will move 4 climbers into the general area I'm going to use them and hide them locked to the base of trees.

I'll pick them up on the way in the first time I use them.

Now till the season I'll look over new areas.
