Great Plains SR Swift
« on: July 10, 2010, 01:04:00 PM »
Hi Y'all,

Newbie here. Have been reading a lot--great site! I've been away from traditional archery for awhile, but have returned. Presently, I shoot a Martin Hunter and am looking at getting a Great Plains SR Swift one-piece recurve. Any comments or advice?

Thanks,

Andy  :archer2:

These bows draw quite smooth and launch an arrow.  I really like the way the grip fits the hand - positive placement for sure.  There was a 58" on the classifieds not too long ago for about $600.

Hey Andy,
Welcome to Tradgang, great site for sure.
I recently shot the Kiowa, GP's entry level bow, and it was very nice. I'm sure the SR Swift is a great shooter also. GP makes the Tomahawk for 3Rivers so i'm sure they're quality control is top notch.
I say get your hands on one and shoot it!

Thanks for the replies, y'all. I was raised in Canyon, TX--about 60 miles from Pampa. I only live about 4 hours from Canyon, so I may just saddle up my Jeep and take a drive up to the panhandle. I'd rather place my order in person, after shooting a bow or two, anyway. These folks are extremely polite and helpful on the phone.
