Grizzly BH screw in????
« on: July 11, 2010, 02:19:00 PM »
I haven't transition over to woodies yet and am still shooting carbons and have been looking for anyone/place that sells screw in grizzly broadheads.  I saw them somewhere awhile back on the internet but haven't been able to find them again.  I don't mind buying the insert/adapter and glueing them on but would be interested if anyone has seen them for sell in the screw in model.  thanks James

get yourself some glue in adapters.  That is how I get up to 175 grains.  I use 25 grain inserts and 150 grain grizzlys.  there are all sorts of different weights for what ever flavor you might be looking for.

I prefer gluing my own in also for a few reasons. There are several different weight adapters available so I can get the head/adapter weight close to what my setup calls for.I can further fine tune this weight by filing a few grains of weight off the adapter tip or if I want to increase the weight a few grains,I can add a few led shot in the hollow of the adapter before gluing.

Also, when gluing my adapters in,I can have the adaptor in my arrow and align my broadhead the way I want it which for me is horizantal.I also put them on a spinning jig at this time and make sure the point spins true as the glue is setting up.

Gluing your own in just gives you a lot of versatility over buying them already done.

Glue your own to make sure inside of head is clean and spin test,no one will do it and well as the user.

Thanks guys, I agree with all of the above mentioned and will plan on gluing my own here shortly.  Good luck this fall.
