I use a small tube cutter from a hardware store on my alluminums.  I only have a few woodies that I had cut for me.

I have the Apple cut-off saw -- much more than I 'll ever need but it sure is slick. I never heard of the Harbor Freight saw-sounds like a good deal.  For many years I used tube cutters on Aluminum with no problems. Just be careful to take little turns and cut slow so you don't pinch the tube end. The bur inside the shaft is easy to remove. I have a dremel but have never used it on arrows.  I probably could have used it though as I only build 3-4 dozen arrows/year for my son and I.

I use Apple Mfg  Arrow Cut off saw…

It works great….Blade is super thin and makes a fine clean cut..

Pipe cutters tend to pinch the shaft that can make it difficult to fit the insert into the opening…then you may have to ream it out to make insert fit...

Cut off saw  eliminates that>>>

Kinds watch that you don't breath the dust from the grinding wheels when cutting carbon arrows.  It is not very good for your lungs.

Another one for the Harbor Freight Cut Off saw.  I think I got mine for about $25 a few years ago.  No problems with it, use it all the time for carbons or wood.  :archer:

+1 on using an ammo reloading chamfer and deburring tool on aluminum shafts.  Over 15 years ago I bought a horizon cutoff saw.  It has done a lot of arrows and it will probably last my lifetime.

For aluminum arrows, I use a small pipe cutter.  It works just fine.  To de-burr, I use a countersink drill bit by hand.
Life is a whole lot easier when you just plow around the stump.

Get a pack of the 3" cutoff blades with it because it comes with a wood blade.  I have the same set up and it works great.
