Anaconda Bighorn Ram Tag

I used to frequent here, bny tips?

ut due to a shoulde injury, I have been only lurking recently.

Anyway, I dre a Ram tag... after many years of nothing.

Rreally pumped!  Anyone have anytihing to add or any tips?

:thumbsup:    :thumbsup:    :thumbsup:   That is awesome!!!  Try to find some recent previous tag holders and I am sure they would be willing to give you some good intel. On those type tags where a person may never draw another one people are usually more than happy to share info.

I have hunted the entire area alot over the years for elk but have seen sheep nearly every trip.  What unit is your tag for?  212 or 213?  I can help send me a pm on what it is exactly you are looking for ie. areas, type of terrain, hunting spots etc.

My area is 213.  I have some local knowledge and have talked with a few that have hunted it.  

I am hoping to find a pig early, but banking on a later season ram.  Access and visibiility are pretty good.  I am so stoked!!!

Good to see you back on Tradgang.  

Give Jeff Koelzer a call, he knows the unit fairly well.  His son had a tag for one of those units three years ago and took a B&C ram from the unit.

Wow, I'm jealous!  Been trying to draw a bighorn tag here in Oregon for 38 years!

Look forward to seeing some updates with pics about your hunt!

You going after a ram with your stickbow or rifle? Good luck which ever you choose, and have fun!    :thumbsup:

In that case, and sense I doubt nobody from here will ever draw another tag for that area!  lol  I have seen some real stud rams in the Foster Creek drainage and Warm Springs Creek drainage, But have also seen some nice rams on the south side of the hwy as well!  Good Luck!

Walt, good to see you on here as well.  I am on the road, so I got wi-fi rockin! I usually have little time for the lighter side of the internet.

I will start with stick and string, if I can get my shoulder going, if not... stick and cable/wheels.  I will likely end up taking a ram with my rifle, and I am fine with that.  My bowhunting has been significantly impacted by an undiagosed (I hate paying the Doc) shoulder problem lingering since my 2006 house build.

Thanks for teh tips.  I will be checking out all the drainages I can, as well as the south side.
