Never!!!!!!!!!!! A little disoriented at times, but a Marine is never lost.
Back in Colo. a few years back we were working our way back to the truck. Using our Garmin and feeling pretty secure. Well.... that great GPS has to get satelites to work and we lost them. After wondering in what we thought was the right direction I noticed the sun going down. I told Ben we better get ready to lay it down for the night cause it's getting late. Now, we had survival gear with us so I felt we were not in any danger. But thick brush with bear scat everywhere would have made a long night. Then I reached in my pack and pulled out my trusty Marine Corp life saver. I say life saver cause this same compass got me out of a pickle or 2 in Desert Storm. Anyhow, after some map and compass work I shot us an azmuth(sp). I figured we had an hour or so I light left so wht the heck. We were at the road/trail in about a half hour.
Technology is good but the basics always seem to work.
