STALKER RECURVE: On the Way!

Several of us had a chance to shoot South Cox's Stalker Recurves at Compton. Some of us ordered bows right away. Here are some pics that South sent me of the bow I will be shooting next week!

Thanks Ryan, flame madrone on the back, myrtle on the belly. Brown actionwood riser with bubinga and I think leopardwood accents. South added some touches that just sets the bow off and so I'm not positive on the leopardwood.

Great lookin' bow! Mine's in the mail too. I leave for vacation with the wife and kids on Friday. It's gonna kill me to leave it at home and miss shooting it for a week :(
Now, aside from our friend Ryan from Pacific Rim who is already deadly with his whose gonna get to hunt with theirs first? I got an elk/mulie hunt Sept 1st. I hope I can get used to it by then

I have some red squirrels in the back yard. Does that count? I think Sept. 15 is when our small game season starts. I hope to see hero pics of you and your gray Stalker by then though! Kevin, I'm not shooting against you for anything, but this Stalker might get me closer. If you watch your manners I'll let you shoot it next week. 50#@28", perfect for this ol guy.

Great Mike! Don't eat the backstrap until its done for me though...them mulies hurt me big time and when I have a cow elk tag in my pocket I usually get run over by bulls on that place in WY. So, we may be eating your squirrels...gravy, fried squirrel, and biscuits

Nice looking bow owlbait. I think South makes a really nice looking bow...haven't seen one yet that I didn't like, or for that matter want to order!

Thanks! I had never heard of flame madrone before and was curious about it. It goes great with the other wood. If you put the limbs next to each other it looks like a candle flame. I've always wanted myrtle on a bow and so I asked for that also. I'll of course post more pics when it gets here next week.

I picked up my Stalker Schleyer model at Denton Hill. South and his wife were very nice and dedicated people. I esspecially like his donation of $100 from each Schleyer model to Bart's memorial fund. Mike

Nice looking bow.......Mike !!!!!
I should get mine this coming week too........it's gonna ship out on Monday. Next year up at Comptons, we need to all get together and have a little "Stalker Bow Reunion Shoot". I think we all ordered one after shooting them up there this year.

I like that idea Don. I've turned around a "few" bows in the first 7 months of this year but I don't see my Stalker being a candidate!!! I can't believe how great this bow looks and this is not his deluxe bow!

Me either Mike.........as I said, I knew with the first few arrows that I could shoot one of South's bows very well.
We'll plan on doing that next year......then.
