Camp Laundry?

I went up to my hunting spot last weekend and it was HOT which got me thinking...  How many of you do some form of camp laundry when up hunting?  I'm getting to go for a nice chunk of time (about 10 days at a whack) for the first time this year.  I don't have large amounts of hunting clothes (10 days worth, anyway) and was thinking about rinsing and letting hang dry.  Any of you do this?  I'm sure some just stick with the same 2 pairs of everything the whole time, but I've become somewhat averse to my stanky self after hiking that much   :eek:  .

I dont really do camp laundry but I do hang my clothes up on a line and let them air dry after the hunt for the day. Then spray them with no scent spray. Some times rubbing dirt or pine limbs on the clothes can help mask that human odor, and give you one more chance to wear them. Just my 2 cents

I wash my clothing inside a empty cooler,using camo soap.I rinse with very few water,since sometimes water is pretty precious.Then I hang at the sun to dry,this is enough to destroy any human odor.

I carry several rubbermaid totes with me to deer camp, they carry all of my gear in the trailer which is packed and ready to go at a moments notice during the season.  Once at camp and unpacked I can generally spare a tote or two for doing a quick bit of laundry by hand.  No shortage of rope in my camp supplies so its never a problem to hang a line up for drying, otherwise I hang them inside of the tent if its below freezing.  I dont do anything fancy as far as the washing, just a bit of dish detergent and water, doesnt take a lot of water to rinse.  I dont worry about the smell as much as some since I put most of my scent control efforts into hunting down wind of game.  Obviously I can drive right up to my camp site with my gear so it affords me a little more convenience, if I had to pack all of this in it would be a different story.

We use 1 quarter box baking soda and 1 bottle hydrogen peroxide in 1 gallon water to wash clothes rinse in plan water line dry.Cheap and removes all human scent.We do this in a small contaner with our hands.

Doing laundry in camp - that's a new one for me. Maybe rinse out a t-shirt or pair of gotchees, but everything else.... well, that's what a laundry bag is for!

Try Dr. Bronners unscented soap.  It has no Phosphates.  Clothes, water and a bit of soap in a rubbermaid container.  Stomp everything like grapes, rinse and hang to dry.

10 day hunt=10 pr/underwear.    Everything else would get an airing out!

I smell like 11 day road kill after a days hunt,I get into any water I can find,been in fresh thawed stream water before.You think B.P. caused problems ....  :eek:

Any container that will hold a little soapy water and clothing to wash will work.  If water is scarce, save soapy water in a one or two-gallon ziploc bag and reuse.  I do laundry every two or three days unless car camping and can have a lot of clothing available.

Rinsing in water works fine if you have plenty of water.

3arrows recipe works great -- if you have plenty of water.

If you have to be careful with water, just let thing hang and dry out and take some kind of spray to kill as much of the scent as possible.

Deer and elk are fairly accustomed to human scent unless it is really strong!

My son says I take enough hunting clothing on a hunting trip to set up shop and start my own hunting store.  I don't have to worry about washing clothes.  We now have a shower and running water in the cabin along with an instant hot water heater.  Daily showers beat the daily "bath" in the small basin we used to stand in to lather up and take turns pouring water to rinse off!!

PS  Usually, I'll wear 1/3 to 1/2 the clothing I take on a trip dependent on the weather.

There are some companies on the net that sell some "enzyme wash" that are non-toxic, kills bacteria, and have no smell. I use that instead of deodorant, you can spray that directly on clothes as well, no need to rinse. I do wash in camp though if water is available.

nah - forward, backwards, turn inside-out and repeat.  4 days per pair.....
