bitz clamp and indexer question
« on: May 13, 2007, 04:08:00 PM »
i have a bitz with rw helical clamp... i'm in the process of picking up a straight clamp...do i need to get a different indexer too?? or will the straight clamp work fine on my base and indexer.?? Also, if there are any lw helical clamps out there i'm interested at the right price.... thanks...steve

You should be fine unless you want to change fletching style, like 3 to 4 fletch. Then you need a different indexer.

Yes, You will need to change the indexer when you change from a right wing clamp to left wing clamp and vice versa...I don't know about when switching to a straight clamp

thanks jeff.... i thought that might be the case when switching from rw to lw... I believe you can use a straight with either indexer..i'm gonna go actually read my instructions... see what it says. thanks again..

I have all the indexers for Bitz's but never change them. Just leave the nock unglued and after fletching, simply turn the nock where you want it and glue it.

Guy's you don't need to change the indexer when changing from RW to LW the only difference you will see is the orientation of the feathers will be slightly different. i.e. a right wing jig and RW clamp will index the cock at 9:00 O'Clock if you change to a LW clamp the cock will be at 8:00 O'Clock, which is the way Black Widow recommends. The same thing will happen with the Straight clamp when changing from RW to LW it will index slightly different but not as much as the helical clamp.
