4 fletch - feather orientation?

I was reading the thread about 3 vs. 4 fletching, and was wondering what angles for the fletching people are using for four feathers.

Matt,
I use 60 x 120 with 60 degree at the top and bottom. It works good for me, even with different width broadheads. Tuning is key.

I have shot 75x105 and 90 deg. and they shoot the same. I like the looks of 4x90 and have been mostly shooting them for the last 40+ years.

When you guys 4 fletch do you use a helical clamp? Or is it better to use offset or even straight? Thanks!

I use a Jo-Jan w/helical clamp. I do this because I still have a Not so Good release and I use 160grn Magnus Snuffers.

I use a helical clamp for 4 fletch and have done all.I done 90,75x105 and 60x120 and they all fly just fine. You fletch a 4" feather and there is not that much helical just from the length of the feather,so I use a helical clamp.

I guess the 4" feather is the key. I'm used to 3 fletching 5" and 5&1/2 inch feathers helically and I was thinking with 4 fletch, man that would be a lot of feather twisting around the shaft

4x5" helical is a lot of feather, but not too much. It only adds stability and at hunting ranges the speed loss is insignificant. As with most things, it is easier to deal with too much than not enuf. I've done 90x90 and 75x105; prefer 90.

75/105 is what I use. I've used 4x90 also. They both work well.

My favorite is 75/105 and I would do it all the time if I didn't have a frugal side to me.

I get great arrow flight with 4 4" fletched at 90 degrees. I use full length feathers and chop 2 out of each feather.

Thanks for all the replys. I'm going to try a 90 degree in my next batch of arrows. For those using the 90, how is your nock in relation to the fletching?
