Does Anyone at Dryad Answer Emails?
« on: August 11, 2010, 12:41:00 AM »
Hey all,

I would like to know if anyone else out there has sent emails to Dryad and not received a response.  I have sent 3 or 4 emails to them about Helle knives and blades and didn't get anything back.  The emails went through or I would get an "undeliverable" message.  I have also sent PM's here to them and not gotten a response.

Are they on vacation or do they just prefer not to answer emails?  I hate to ask about this, but it is kinda aggravating.

Here's a note to other bowyers and archery suppliers, if you list an email address on your web page how about ANSWERING your emails when someone sends you one?  By no means is Dryad alone in this, I have it happen time and time and it gets frustrating.

Maybe they all have me on the IGNORE list.

Am I the only one not getting emails returned?

Thanks for the time.

Mike and co are good people to deal with. Maybe try them on the phone. There could be a number of reasons for not getting a response.

I don't think he's on vacation.  I saw him posting on another site yesterday.

Larry,

Just saw this and no emails here.  You might be having a problem with your provider.

What address are you sending too?

We get about 50emails a day and try to get back to everyone.  But if we don't get em, well it's hard to reply.  LOL

I've wondered what happens to e-mails like those myself....lol

I sent one to Ron LaClair(Shrew bows) and that was several weeks ago and I still don't have a reply.

Thanks Mike at least it gives me hope that I wasn't just ignored.

God bless,Mudd

I have sent emails that get stuck in a spam file or something of the sort. I do not know what that is or if I have one so I may have some un-answered emails in there. I hope not. What baffles me is sending a PM to a fellow sponsor on here that you can see gets read but yet,NO REPLY.

I would call them. I purchased a blade and a block for a handle last winter. I purchased another handle blank after messing up the first one. I had trouble ordering on there web site so I called them. They were very pleasant on the phone and very helpful. Great people to work with.

I can sure understand how frustrating it is not to receive a response to emails.  But in most cases I would bet the problem is not with the sponsor, but with the method of delivery.  Emails are great tools, but spam filters reject piles of them everyday, and the recipient has no way of knowing anyone had tried to contact them.  As a business owner, nothing is more frustrating than to miss out on a potential opportunity.

PM's here are good to a point, but they are not fail safe either.  I receive email notifications of PM's as they come in.  A couple of weeks ago I received an email notification that a PM had been delivered.  But I have never seen the actual PM come through.  PM message boxes are limited in size, and if the receivers box is full, yours won't go through.  That wasn't the problem with my missed PM, but could be on others.

Your safest bet is that when you don't receive a response in a timely manner, pick up the phone and call.  I'm pretty sure that the sponsor will be very happy that you did.

Emails are not certain to arrive as intended.  The electronics game is a maze of servers and tranfer points, and many have filters and limiters which all can affect the delivery.  For the most part they are what they appear to be, a quick way to get some info to someone in an unattended mode. However, when you send something, unless you have a delivery response mode set, you must allow for the fact that sometimes it just might not arrive.

I have had nothing but positive experiences dealing with the Westvangs.  I have gotten Mike on the phone everytime I have called them, and it has been more than a couple...Great customer service from Dryad in my experience.

Send your emails regarding Helle knives to [email protected].  I think she deals with the knife side of things.  I sent a couple emails to her a few weeks ago and had replies within a normal time frame.

I don't always get replies when I send emails to people and it almost always turns out there was an email glitch or a really good reason on the receivers side.
