Scorpion went away
« on: August 18, 2010, 10:01:00 AM »
Well I had convinced myself to hunt this year with my MR Scorpion longbow for another season.  Between all of the med expenses and having my job eliminated and taking a significant pay cut in another department; I had decided to shoot my MR Hamilton longbow that I took critters with last year.

I must have had a bad nock, or the bow just gave it up at full draw.  The glass running on the the belly at the top delaminated from the handle and the laminations.  The glass came down and just nicked my web of hand. ouch, but no probs.  The bow was built in 1989, and there is no telling how many arrows have been through it.  I guess 21 yrs is pretty good for a longbow made of wood and glass.

Now I am trying to find a bow for the coming hunting season with limited funds.  I called about a used Kimsha, but it was already sold.  I have shot alot of different bows over the years, but just prefer the more traditional longbows with the dished grip.

PM me if you have something that you might be willing to part with.  I shoot around 55-58 pounds at 27" and 66" or longer bow.  Does not have to be pretty!

If the bow you have doesn't work out I can lend you the first longbow i ever bought. It is a MR Hamilton Scorpion Longbow that is 54lbs at 26" and 66" long that was made in November 1990. Just let me know.
