First what kind of sinew should be use for backing a osage selfbow:
Back Sinew
Leg Sinew
How much Hide glue should be used and how much Sinew.

Either
I use Knox gelatin (get it at your grocery store), one or two packets is enough but keep extra handy in case ou run out.
Depends on how thick. 8 whitetail leg tendons will give you 2 layers which is a minimum to get it to really work.

I like the leg tendons on Elk, one because the are readilly available to me and two the are long enough to cover a bow quiclky and short enough to really pull some reflex into a bow..... Here's how I harvest and prepare my sinew...
