Great thread! I posted this in the Alberta section of the forum:
As promised a week early for my B-day! Thanks Bert!!
Handled his bows a couple of years ago at a show decided I had to have one as they felt "just right".

It looks great!
I especially like the elk tips:

Best part is it shoots as good as it looks:

55", 52#, 2pc takedown (comes apart at the handle....pretty slick!)
To say I'm excited about the upcoming archery season would be a huge understatement...

Every time I pick up my widow, I can't believe bows keep getting so much better all the time. We are so lucky we have such great bowyers. USA forever.

I agree with the "awe"some grandeur of God's creation and the gifted bowyers He has scattered about our world.

Here are a couple of pictures of a Cocobolo/Myrtle beauty from Mr. Johnson at Blacktail.

I would have to agree with Bill Carlsen re the DAS.  I recently received a new set of Border Hex 5 H limbs for my Gen II DAS as well, and the bow has moved into the top spot for me.   It is an incredible shooter!

I haven't read through all of these posts, but one bowyer that stands out among others and who's bows are awe inspiring is none other than.....Dean Torges. His bamboo-backed osage bows are truly stunning works of art and very efficient arrow launchers. They seem to be very hard to find anywhere and this fact is reflected in the price they demand. It's rare to find even a used one for less than six or seven hundred bucks. Oh yeah, and I hear that he doesn't even sell them!
