So I want to go Bear Hunt'in
« on: August 24, 2010, 05:41:00 PM »
My buddy and I would like to find a good Black Bear Outfitter in the US for next spring.  We aren't too picky about size but a good bear would be a nice bonus.  We hunted together in Manitoba a couple of years ago and got snookered by the Outfitter and being from the South, we don't really have a clue.

We don't mind paying a fair price but we are more interested in seeing something on this hunt. Northwest, Northern US or Northeast would be just fine.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Thanks.

Call Ted at Raptor Archery.  He guides for a fellow in Idaho that has a very good reputation.

If your willing to poke around a bit and talk to folks I am sure there are plenty of Trad Gangers that live in good bear country that would exchange a hunt with you.  I would offer to take you out but my next year is tied up in a trip to Australia so my free hunting time is limited.

Sorry to hear about a poor outfitter here in Manitoba. There is absolutely no reason for people to have poor hunts in a province with such good bear hunting. Best of luck in your search...there are plenty of good outfitters and bear hunts out there....Ryan

Call Mark Buehrer (BSC) 1-800-833-9777 and ask him about the Idaho black bear bowhunt. One of the best if you want to stay in the lower 48.. This outfitter offers a couple different style hunts. You can horseback way back in and spot n stalk the bears.  Stalking black bears is about as fun as it can get..

I went to BC and stalked bears with Michael Schneider.. SUPERB bowhunting in beautiful country. Mark can get you set up either way...

The Maine hunt is a Fall hunt. Hopefully by this time next week I'll be tagged out. Gotta put in a good word for Hunters Point Guide Services...click on the site address under my avatar.
