Mark Horne on Backland Country
« on: August 25, 2010, 11:38:00 PM »
I had the pleasure of running out to Horne's archery to talk with Mark and Sandy about my bow they are working on and they told me that the Backland episode Mark is featured in will be airing this week.  Rick Rifenburgh "rattlin rick" also happened to be there and he will also be featured on the show since he is the manager of the Newell Ranch.  They will be hunting white tail with trad bows and flint heads.  Should be on the Pursuit channel tomorrow night at 9 pm est or Saturday at 8 am est, or on GAC Saturday at 8 am est. Hope you guys get a chance to check it out.

Just watched the show.  Was that a lighted nock on the other end of that stone point?  I like both, but didn't figure to see them on the same arrow.  Was the arrow footed with wood to have the stone pointed mounted?  Nice buck and looks like Mark made a great shot.  I am glad I started taping this show.  Even the shows that are not trad shooting are great shows!

I really enjoy this show too.  It doesn't seem so artifical, just a down to earth hunting show with a guy that respects the animals he's hunting and doesn't act like a fool.  I loved watching the making of a bow with Mark.  It looked like a luminock to me.  Can't wait for next week.
