beaver tail rest material
« on: August 30, 2010, 06:03:00 PM »
anybody use it for rest material?  i have a longbow with it as a rest material and i can hear the arrow drawing back on it..is there anything i can use to wipe on it to soften it and try to quieten it..without a lotta smell?  i kinda like it and hate to change it, but i could go velcro and quieten it and stiffen my arrows a touch, which wouldnt hurt either.
just wonderin if anybody uses it for rest material

Judging from the response I would say not too many use it....

Beaver tails are not that common anyway. I put one on yours because they look good and last forever. If you don't like the small amount of noise, remove it from the shelf and leave it on the strike plate. It will make it quieter and the thinness of the rest will keep your arrow closer to center.

Love mine and can't hear a thing.
True  i'm a bit deaf, but i think it's because mine is well broken in

Good luck,

I have it on my Cari-bow and on my Centaur. I just can't wear this material out. I actually find it to be the quietest material out there for rests. Peace!
