Hunting Arrow help

I recently purchased a Black Creek Banshee and need advise on arrows for hunting. The bow is 50#s. I have a 26in draw. I usually shoot Magnus broadheads but I am open to any and all suggestions. Sorry for the lack of details but I am extremely new to this traditional bow shooting.

Hello Justin, nice bow. Some of the details I need to know is, what weight are your broadheads? Do you have a fast flight string? Let me know and we'll put you on the right track. You might want to send me a private message as I sometimes only check my mail.

I looked at the Black Creek website and there isn't much of a description of the bows, but the Banshee looks to be cut at least to center.  How deep the shelf is cut has a major effect on spine needs.  We would also need to know the weight at your draw and your point weight.  I'm sure it is wearing a hard string.

Where in IL are you, Justin?  I have a rack full of test arrows and I'm sure we can find the right one for our bow.  Don't hesitate to contact me.

I shot a Banshee once, and it is a pretty darn quick bow. Very efficient. I have about the same draw, too, and I shoot 28" 2013 and 2016 aluminums out of similar bows. The 2016 might be a little stiff until you put some weight up front.

Looks like Fletcher can take good care of your wooden arrow needs, and he's a local fella to boot!

thanks for the replies. not certain of the exact poundage of my bow but it is 50#s at 28. I will put bow on scale tomorrow and get exact poundage and call Jim and find out about string...they confuse me! too many to choose from. I currently have Easton FMJ's 500s shooting 75grain insert and 125tips that I had set up for my Shrew calssic hunter

That's not too far, Justin.  When you talk to Jim, ask how deep he cuts the shelf on the Banshee and what spine he would recommend.  He should know his bows better than anyone.  From there, we can figure it real close.  I don't know carbons from corn, but I can do wood arrows pretty good.  

You have plenty of good broadheads to choose from and the Magnus is one of them.

That would put ya at around 45# in aluminum a 1916 cut to 28"s with a 125 grain head or ya could leave a Heritage 150 long 30"s and shoot 100 grain insert and 125 grain head and that would get ya close. Shawn

Woodies a 45-50 cut to 28"s BOP and 125 grain head would get ya there as well! Shawn
