ibo to field archery help
« on: September 04, 2010, 09:36:00 PM »
Hello all, I have been shooting trad.going on my fifth year. I have been trying to gather info from everyone I talk to and shoot with watching and learning to try to improve myself. I have been shooting IBO for several years and have been working my way up in the long bow class. This year has been a good year for me I have been shooting a bow I made and placed a couple times and got third at the. Ibo worlds in newyork ( sorry I just couldn't make the traditional worlds this year. Hopefully next year)
Now I'm still not on the level of Ken redding or Dave wallace but I'm trying.  Between trying to be more well rounded and what I see on other forums about the level of compitition between IBO and other types of field archery and the attitude I got this year at the worlds from some from other country's has pushed me to try to move to the next level in my path to become a better hunter.
So my question is I live in Ohio and I can't travel to far but in the next year I would also like to try some field archery. Does any one have a thought on where I could start to learn and shoot field archery close where I might be able to learn and give it a try

Are you a member of the NFAA? The National Field Archery Association should have a local affiliate in Ohio (lots of histoy in Ohio) with shooters in your state. I would start there.
