Steve,
Thanks for sharing and as you have stated, that trip was kind of a theme hunt with bear being optional. The type of visitors that make us re-examine our oppinion of tourist. Looks like you guys experienced a great Alaskan adventure. Impressive planning and well documented.
Southcentral to Southeast Alaska has the second largest tidal exchange on the North American Continent. 20ft average. One of many ways to meet your maker.
We up here are no different than any of the finatics on this site and throughout the world. We have bows that cost more than the flights into the bush, not to mention optics and iron. The one constant is that good gear and common sense are mandatory here and most of us see no reason to test that theory. It is true, some get off the plane and are Alaskan, and some stay here their entire life and never become Alaskan. And contrary to popular belief, not all of us were running from a past, but were running for a future.
Respectfully submitted,
~CB
