Zwickey No Mercy single bevel

OK, I opened the package and they were as dull as my 12 grade english teacher.  I says to myself, "Self this is not a problem because we spent a boocoo of money on a high dollar, top of the line sharpening system!"  Well, followed the instructions on my KME and website.(best sharpener I haver ever owned, by the way) and the bevel on the head was way to steep to match with the 30 degree the sharpener will go to.  I worked with a file, for a while, then went with rotary tool and chainsaw sharpening stone to break the steel.  Took care not to get hot as not to affect steel.
Is there an easier way? Thanks

A belt or disk sander is probably the easy quick way to set the initial angle, but a good 8-10" mill bastard file works very well.

I got my no mercy heads super sharp with just a file and diamond stone. Pop hairs very easy.RC

I got my Delta's down to the right bevel with a table top belt sander.  Doing it with a file took a long long time, probably over an hour per head.

Belt sander I did three dozen in about a third that time...

I just mounted mine onto a shaft, kinda eyeballed the angle and had them capable of shaving in short order.  

I then used  cardboard after removing the burr off the back.  My only complaint is up towards the tip, (Where it is reinforced) it is hard to deal with the back of the edge.

Given the Rc of 52 emphasis on "good file"

Just don't get it too hot with the sander.

Glad you like the sharpener but, you're right,  any laminated tip broadhead has gotta be filed the first time "out of the pack". Just the tip sections primarily and you don't need to really get them sharp, just close. Use the file for the heavy stock removal, then finish up with your knife sharpener. Once you get them tuned the first time, future touch ups are far easier. Let me know if you need any help. Thanks,

What two blade broadhead do you recommend that'll fit the KME sharpener?  Everybody I've asked says use a two blade for hogs so a recommendation or two would be appreciated.

  I had the same problem myself then tried the method demonstated by John Teitzel of Tusker Broadheads for his single bevels. That piece of video can be seen on the BraveHeart Archey site under the Tusker dropdown. Hopefully, it's helpful. Todd

After wrestling with my No Mercys, I noticed that each side has two angles. That is, toward the point the blade breaks into a different angle. You've either got to file our grind this out, or take it into consideration.

DR, pretty much any 2-blade will fit the KME, incl Zwickeys.  The extra thickness of the laminated tip just requires some extra filing there.  Once you get the tip the same as the rest of the edge they both sharpen the same.  Here's a couple pics of a Zwickey tip, altho double bevel edges.
