« on: September 09, 2010, 02:37:00 PM »
I decided to give douglas fir surewood shafts a try this year. Who are some good arrow smiths out there that use surewood shafts?

Thanks

I don't think I've ever heard anyone say a bad thing about surewood arrows from The Feathered Shaft...

Gil, Rick Stillman @ "The Feathered Shaft" sponsor here as well. Spine true like a aluminum. He culls what most guys call premium. Quality through and through. Flint

Yep, Rick would be my first recommendation. Here's some he did for me just recently

I have held Rick's arrows in my hands, and they are trully works of art.  You won't go wrong by using "The Feathered Shaft".

Another vote for Rick. He's an artist with the arrows, and a nicer guy to deal with you'll never find!

Thanks for the compliments, guys.

Gil, I'll do my best to fix you up.

BTW, I have my eye on another Maulding, but he's not ready to sell, yet.

I'll chime in a say Rick with The Feathered Shaft...My only complaint is I don't have enough of his great shafts in my quiver, but will be looking to add some more to it soon.

Thanks Rick I am going to get in touch with you about the Surewood arrows.

Ron Maulding, that is a blast from the past. I bought back my original Maulding I had Ron build for me back in the 1980s. Brazillian Rosewood and Tonkin bamboo. I can actually draw it back again and shoot it. 70# @ 28.

Nice looking arrows and great bows those Mauldings (Bighorn Longbows).

I am not sure what I will need in regard to the arrows. I think I may have to try a test pack to try to tune them up before I order a full dozen.

Thanks
Gil
