I called the head law enforcement guy in NC to see if he could explain what was meant by a barbed head. He thought for a minute then told me it couldn't look like a fish hook. I said good! none of my arrow heads looked like fish hooks. He thought for another minute and said, maybe you should ask the DNR officer that will be writing the ticket.
Unfortunately the DNR doesn't know enough about stone heads to even make an educated guess and I don't think they care either. When I asked why they didn't have an example of a barbed  stone head and a legal stone head the head guy also told me that not enough guys hunt with stone to give a better explaination.

Nicely done. I have tried knapping and only make little rocks out of big rocks. You have quite a talent.

I never thought about the expandable heads being barbed but from what I have heard if the back edge of the blade is more than 90deg off the shaft it is a barbed head. I guess they have a better lobby than we stone head shooters do! d;^)

Good point there on those mechanic heads!

:o        :o        :o     WELL,,,,,,,,,, see,,,, he was chasing a hot doe and a standing shot turned to greased lightening in a split second! Anyway, he finally bled out as it clipped the femural artery.
