If you could talk your wife into it?

Well here's the deal. I talked my beautiful wife into a hog hunt next year. I would prefer to go no-guide and keep things fairly low cost due to the large expenditure on a mission trip in February. What state would you guys head to?

I should probably add that she will be coming as well to hunt with either a wheelie bow or a gun, unless she gets more confident and can draw a heavier weight trad bow.

California bro, self guided on the Tejon ranch. 90 minutes from LA. After and before the hunt enjoy the tourist thing. Fly southwest and it is a pretty good deal, especially if you compare the scenery...

I have to be honest, California was the last place I expected someone to say. LOL apparently I need to do some research.

If Cal has more hogs than Texas you better book a flight pdq. I do know some folks out there that rack em up pretty good though. Take your time & explore possibilities around the Gulf Coast otherwise. Temp hunting licenses are cheap for 5-10 days. You might find a benevolent soul to help. I hunt the Nat'l forest. PM for more.

The only way my wife would go if it was a guided hunt sponsored by Macy's! I hunt and she shops.

lpcjon2, my wife also. I leave for Ray's next week, and she laughed when I said I needed to take a sleeping bag.

lpcjon2, sounds like your wife and mine are sisters. Her idea of camping is 5 starr hotels.

Aren't they all?

The most important part of your hunting setup is the broadhead. The rest is just the delivery system.
