Flight Distance...
«

At 10 GPP, how far would everyone say and arrow must fly to cleanly harvest a deer? (I.E- 140 Yards @ 600 Grns.) Anyone have a conversion for flight distance to arrow speed?
Lacking a chrono, Im bound to more primitive methods...
Thanks Gang,

More then total grain weight the fletching will cause your arrow to fall short.
Difficult to calculate back to launching speed with fletching on. But
don't
try to shoot an unfletched broadheaded arrow now
Consider building a ballistic pendulum to get some datas. A websearch should give some idea on how it's done and the math behind it ... good luck! Falk

Have a look at Joe Tapleys website, it might give some clues?! This link will jump you directly to his
Flight Shooting
page. Use the link down below there to see his complete homepage. Lots of interesting stuff there. But keep an open mind as some parts are - at least - object to discussion.
