First night in the stand.

Today was our opener and I had a flatout BALL! I'd been sittin in the stand all of 5 minutes and a trio of coons showed up. They were comical to watch they played and rolled around for about 3 hours. Bout dark they had a belly full and wandered away then an 6 or 8 pointer wandered by. he jumped the string on me, I missed by about 3 inchs. It didn't matter I've killed a pile of deer, the coons made the afternoon for me. For me the best hunts don't seem to involve bloody arrows.

I had a blast also and I didn't even see a thing, no squirrels or coons. Just being out there with the anticipation of seeing something was plenty for me. It was also the first hunt with the new ghillie I made. Then I worked my way to a camera I set out and was gonna check it in the woods and set it out somewhere else only to find I didn't put a card in it so I had to bring it home to check it. Biggest deer I have had on camera was in it just don't know what it was because the head wasn't in the pic. Sure looked like it was a very big bodied deer so the anticipation is still there! Good luck on the next trip in the woods!!
