Hunting "Rider" Arrow (w/pics)
« on: September 15, 2010, 08:40:00 AM »
Thought y'all might like to see my choice for a more fitting "Rider" blunt for my Hunts this year. I had one in my Slim Jim Rider attachment in earlier pictures but it was one of my regular 3D/practice CX arrows (w/ bright colored shaft wrap and fletchings).

A couple days ago I made up two (one for back-up) with wild Turkey fletches and snakeskin shaft wrap (just a tad of white - for location aid       :D    ).

Overall look showing placement of arrow in the Rider attatchement on back of quiver:

Blunt (Ace, Octagon) end of arrow, on back side of 3 single blade broadhead quiver:

Fletched end of arrow in quiver, showing snakeskin shaft wrap and "locator" white .... oh yuh, and a little "black"       :D      :

Looks good, I love naturally barred turkey feathers.
Thanks for sharing.

Natural barred feathers are the best and hold up the best IMHO.

I like the naturals too - a lot to be said for them, especially in a hunting situation - IMO.

You're right, Ravenwood.

Thanks, Chuck - I really like this rig. I think you would too, and I wish we were still close enough so you could try it - LOL (though I know you folks are happy out there in TX).

I'm with you, SteveT

My pleasure, John. It is a simple little addition/attatchment but works sweet and no movement that I've noticed. I've purposely used it (without a living target) a couple or three times already, just to see how neat it works (and feels) just to have the capability. The little pad (stuck to the quiver back) also helps by providing a pad for the Blunt/Scorpion, target point, etc. to rest on, nice and snug. I've always liked the idea of being able to carry an extra arrow for non-broadhead uses while hunting but was never really satisfied by any of the options I had tried. I really like this one.

I must admit that I hadn't even thought about the fact that the Rider Attachment could also be used on the regular Kanati Angle quivers also - (Duh! - LOL)    :knothead:
