trail camera woes

OK. So I moved to Kentucky, know nothing of the deer here, so I sprung for a Tasco trail camera, model 119223C. Cheap one from Walmart--$50 plus batteries, plus memory card.

Tried it out on the family, it worked, I could view the photos on my laptop.

After owning it less than a week, it and my laptop are refusing to speak to each other most of the time. Sometimes they will talk, but then the computer won't admit there are photos to view, or it says there is a problem with the photos.

Laptop was new last November, A decent Lenovo that works fine on everything else. Windows 7. VERY frustrating. This is part of why I didn't buy a trail cam long ago.

Anyone know how to overcome this problem?

My buddy bought the same one. He's having problems when he takes the memory card out. Puts it in the camera comes up no images found or cannot view images.

I really like my Cuddebaks. I have a friend who has a Covert that he really likes and it seems to take really good pics. I wish I was enough of a computer geek to help you out but I know a number of guys that bought cheap cameras and had problems of various types. I hope someone on here can help you figure it out.

Mine is refusing to take a picture. I can stand and wave my hands in front of it, and it no longer responds. This suddenly happened, because it was working fine.

Anybody know anything to try.

Mine is a cheap one too...I guess thats why they are cheap.

I think we have our answer.

My dad bought one of the cheap ones and it never worked straight out of the box.

Got ahold of the manufacturer. They say,, yeah, it doesn't work the way it's supposed to--buy a card reader. I will. They're $8.

Did you format the sd chip in the camera? That sometimes helps. Also here is a link to the manual in case yours is not as readable.

I think I need to reclarify that statement from my last post. Did you use the camera to format the chip? When I used my PC to format them, the cameras sometimes had trouble reading the format.

First place I would look at is making sure your batteries are good,then try a different brand sd card.Some card and some cameras just don't work well.Lots more often with the higher capacity cards.I have one 4gig card that works great everything but one camera.Another brand same size works fine in it and everything else.   :confused:
