Generally 3" shorter than the bow, I would try a 63" string and twist accordingly.

Are you working with a flemish twist or an endless loop type string?

61.5 seems way short to me? Could be why you dont have enough twist to get your BH.

Do the smart thing, call Craig at HH Archery and have them make you a new string of your choice. I'm sure they know what length it is...   :coffee:

I did call...didn't get Craig but the Guy pulled a string off a bow there and its the same as the one I have and the NH thing is an issue with that length.  They have two different string suppliers and he told me they varied a little on length.

Got my feathers today too Joe.  Thanks.

66" is my favorite length for D bows and I've built quite a few of them that length.   3" less that nock to not length is what I always use, and I seem to always come out just about right on for brace height and shootability.   Finished a bow yesterday that was a bit different, but that measurement still worked.   Bows is 67" and I made the string 64".  However, it's a forward riser, which raises the brace height a theoretical 1" to 1 1/2".    Brace height first time strung came out right at 7 1/4", twistable up or down without going too tight or too loose.   Took it out to shoot and the first arrow out of the bow was a center kill zone shot at 17 yards.   In years past I've had a number of Hill Cheetahs and again, 3" short has always worked.

I've got two 66" Hills and they like a 63" flemish string.  Twist it up until you get a 6.5" brace height and it should shoot fine.  Too low a brace and your feathers may touch the riser...not good if you hunt.

I beleive it is 3 inches shorter than AMO for Longbows and 4 inches shorter for Recurves.
