Do your "Stingers" rattle

Loading up the front end of some arrows this afternoon with some 130 grain Stingers, I tapped one of the shafts and got a rather pronounced rattle.
I checked the others and they seemed alright.
I ended up taking it apart and using some string wax, loaded the ferrule slots with wax.
It seems to be OK now, but really hate things that rattle in my quiver, darn things are noisy enough.

Where did you find a 130 gr. stinger?  If you're shooting the 4 blade without the bleeders then they'll probably all start to rattle because the bleeder locks everything together.  They won't hold up on impact without the bleeder in if you hit any bone either.

I had some of the 4-blade Stingers and had the same problem with every one in the first pack I opened.  They were noisy enough to be a real problem.  Ended up sending them back.  Have heard the same complaint from others.  Was thinking of trying again to see if the issue has be rectified because they do seem like nice heads otherwise.

Picked them up at Cabala's a couple years ago, not sure they may be 135, but 130 on my scale.. Yes they are 4 blade.

Been shooting 2&4 blade Stingers for years and have never had a problem.Maybe the set-screws hadn't been snugged up all the way?Have taken several deer with them...great heads!

I have never had one rattle I have been shooting them for a long time.

i have gone through a lot of hem and had acouple rattle no biggy just wax em and they will be fine i bet the head where marked 125grn but might be five over i have noticed this with some of there heads but five grns isn't gonna make or break it good luck this season ya'll

I agree they are a great head, I've hunted with them in the past, and am hunting with them now. Had I not thumped the arrow I would have never heard it either.
I really think the blade slot is a bit wide and or deep for the blade, and yes wax did the trick..
Like I said one of by frustrations is noise amplification of a bow quiver, so I do get a bit annal on things like this..

I just experienced this too! No noise at all before I messed with the head... then I took one apart to see how it shoots without the bleeder and I quickly realized it definitely isn't designed for that, so I put the bleeder back in, but it still rattled a little afterwards... guess I need to remove the set screw and try to re-tighten... weird screwdriver size (for my tool collection), so I must not have gotten it snug enough.

I called Woody Sanford at Magnus when I had some that were rattling. He said, either send them back or put a spot of glue on the part that holds the bleeder in. I glued them with Fletch Tite and have had no problems since. He said they had a bad batch a few years ago and some are still floating around out there for sale. Its an easy fix and it will cure hte problem, or just send them to Magnus and they will give you new ones.
