gator hunts
« on: September 21, 2010, 10:26:00 PM »
Anyone have any recommendations on reasonable gator bow hunts available?  Seems like a fun hunt but what I have found it seems to be a pretty expensive hunt and often you don't get the whole animal when its done.  Any info would be great!  Thanks,

Ganzer

I just did it with some buddies, I would just go in with a buy the tag (2 gators per tag) and go.

Your pricing doesnt look bad at all compared to some I have seen.  Do you have abrochure that tells whats included?  Do you get entire animal? are there trophy fees in addition? these are the things I would be interested in knowiing as well.  I didnt realize south carolina had a huntable population of gators.

For Georgia and South Carolina you are looking at about 3 years to have enough preference points to draw a tag.

Florida has no preference point system but you are looking at over $1000 for the 2 cites tags if you draw.

You may want to look into hunts in Louisiana and Texas as well.

As for equipment check out these sites:

Merganzer, I did a "How To" thread on this a while back called "Winter Doldrums - How To DIY Florida Alligator Bowhunt". Do a search on here and it should answer most of your questions. I went back again this year and we took four more gators (all the tags we had).

It can be done on a DIY!
