Target practice? (funny pic)
« on: September 22, 2010, 10:15:00 PM »
This little one walked right in front of the target at the park today.

Then I saw the whole family behind the target.  Sorry the pics are no good I just had my phone.

Lucky for the deer this was in JB park and no hunting is allowed.  It is funny though to have a deer right behind your target right during season.

I think they can read the signs and understand this is the safest place in the county.

LOL....  Those metal tops are my worst enemy!  Nothing worse than that sound and the sparks when a 10 dollar arrow hits that.  It is always followed by a 4 letter word!

Hey Andy,

Any way I can get some more pictures of that target set-up?

We have an archery range on the Park I manage and I'm looking for a fairly vandel proof target rig to install.

Thanks,
OkKeith

PS great pics! Yep, those deer know the deal in the park.

I have a question on those targets also, what are they made of??

Back to the thread, I used to have to stop practicing sometimes because the deer would come up and eat my hay backstop. I always think it is cool to be practicing and have them walking around.

I was at a 3-d shoot inJuly and there was a whitetail doe standing next to a fallow buck target near the end of the course.  She spooked off when we stepped up near the shooting lane for my 4 year old to look.

Here are some close up pics of the targets.  Not sure what the layers are made of, but the frames look cheap and easy to make and they work great.  Here is a link to the group that maintains them:

Thanks Andy!

Your right, we may have enough scrap angle-steel at the maint. barn to build one or two of those.

Good lookin' bow by the way.

OkKeith
