Locked up compound
« on: October 08, 2010, 12:33:00 PM »
Well we have 42 days left in the early season and so far it has been great.  My wife has shot her first two deer and I have a nice doe in the freezer.  This is her first year hunting so getting her out there was a success.  I wanted to get a few deer in the freezer and now that we have done that, I am locking up the compound for the rest of the year.  I plan on taking any buck that I can get a good shot at and a nice doe if given the chance.  I have never drawn back on an animal with my recurve, but there is no time like the present to give it a try.  I hope this will allow me to put faith in my shooting abiliy and put the compound away forever.

Good luck to you!

The quest to improve is so focused on a few design aspects & compensating for hunter ineptness as to actually have reduced a bow & arrow’s effectiveness. Nothing better demonstrates this than mech. BHs & speed fixated designs

I hope it becomes addicting.  I love shooting my recurve, I just like having meat in the freezer that is why I have only hunted a few times with my recurve.  This is the first year I have felt comfortable shooting my recurve at a game animal.  Now that we have meat, I can get my first trad kill.

You will never be confident with the recurve if the compound is still in your possession! Antlerless deer are perfect to gain confidence with. One can not gain confidence in something without trying/using/failing/continue trying!

I bet that compound will be for sale shortly after you get your first with your recurve.

Good luck on your quest. I sold the wheels this year so the temptation to use it can't be there. Remember this weekend blaze orange is required due to special youth weekend.

Just remember you have to do the same thing in getting a shot at a deer reguardless which ever bow you use. Good luck in your quest for a deer.

I agree with Kelly! Lock up the wheelie and throw away the key. Good luck and remember it's the journey not the destination.

Just did one better; shipped the compound out yesterday to an **** buyer.  No more crutches; I'm cured!
