who's the best for snakeskin backing?
« on: May 22, 2007, 06:36:00 PM »
I'd like to know who you think is the best person to back my bow with snakeskin.
I'm really looking for some dark skins with small enough detail that it will look good on my Tomahawk longbow.
The darker the better, I even thought about dyeing them brown so that it's just black and brown colors.

Who would you send yours to and why?  :help:

Bob Morrison

although putting snakeskins on a bow is not difficult, getting a good finish over them is. Bob's finishes are first rate.

The best has to be Bob Morrison!  Now other people do fine work, I am sure, but Bob is the Best!

Based on my personal experience I'd also have to give the nod to Bob Morrison.  One suggestion, though (it's a secret!!).  If you have Bob do your snake skins be sure and tell him that he looks exactly like Brad Pitt and he'll knock at least $50 off of the normal price.  But don't tell him I told you about this or he might be p*ssed.  John

Now that I'm drooling how do I get in touch with Mr. Bob Morrison?
Any ideas what he charges?

I recently contacted Mr. Morrison and was told that he is so backlogged that he is no longer taking any more work. Frank

Too bad...lots of people do a great job...but nobody can beat Bob....and I do a great job on my own (pat on back icon here).

Bob's work is flawless...looks like it is part of the glass or something...have to see to believe.

Don "Bowdoc" Ward is doing snakeskin backings now. Although I haven't seen them yet I'm sure he'll do a good job-the conventional finish work he's done for me is absolutely top of the line. GBY
