Not sure but I have a recurve that I believe was marked "Sanders Swift". It was a very nice bow with a the riser made out of a stack of laminations about as thick as limb laminations laid in a pattern. White glass on the limbs and a fairly high wrist grip. I bought it to give to a friends boy in exchange for some contractor work he helped me with but it showed up cracked at the shelf. I then bought a Wing Gull that was five pounds heavier and fixed the Sanders. Rather than give him a repaired bow, I gave him the choice between the two and the Sanders shot so much better than the Gull that he chose it anyway. My fix was sound and I added overlays to hide it and it really is a good looking bow. Too bad it's only 30 lbs. I'd love to find another one in a grown up weight.

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

This is one of Gene's first longbows. Great shooter and tough as nails. He also makes recurves. Good guy and very nice bows.

I think that is a different Sanders. I too, have a Sanders Swift, 45#, 68". It is a 60's vintage and is everything you said and more. Just about the best, smoothest recurve I've ever shot.

Mahantango, do you have a picture? I'll see if I can find a pic of the one I had.

Gene's bows were Mantis bows...and I think he is back in business.
He's from Dallas, GA.
He was really into short bows with no stack and finger pinch....and using different wood combinations.
Sassafras core wood was one thing I remember about Gene's bows.
I've owned three....they were very nice and well-made....hard hitting game getters.

Sorry Dave, I'm photo-challenged but I'm working on it. It's the coolest looking, many thin lams going every-which-way, a couple of them red, seems to be maple and walnut. White glass back, woven green glass belly. Fine tip overlays.

I have a G & L Mantis, 52# @ 28" 56" long great bow smooth and fast, almost silent with wool puffs. Very light in the hand! A real nice hunting bow...
