Bear Bombs
« on: October 15, 2010, 12:15:00 AM »
Anyone ever used them?

I understand that they are not considered baiting as it is simply scent being dispersed. What I am interested in is whether they are effective.

Thanks!

Never used them but I was watchin a show on discovery channel were theDNR. Simply fried some bacon on the trap site and spread the grease around the snare. He said it was very effective and asi recall he was inWV too....wonder if its considered baiting if you eat the bacon?

They do work and well. We set one off on arrival at stand and keep another in tree to disperse gradually from time to time. Makes good cover scent from stand as well.

Maybe I should soak my clothes in bacon grease!
  :knothead:    :)

No baiting allowed in WV... I guess that would include using yourself as bait. Oh well.

Thanks for the responses... I think I will give'em a try.
