Question about bow arm injury
« on: May 23, 2007, 04:08:00 PM »
I had an accident on my mountain bike a little over a week ago and injured my left wrist. The doctor confirmed today that I’ve fractured one of the small bones in my left wrist called the Scaphoid. It’s a small bone between the large wrist bones and the thumb.

The doctor won’t be able to tell me anything until I’m re-evaluated but most of the things I’ve read suggest that the normal recovery period for this type of injury is 8 – 10 weeks before engaging in activities that would put strain on the bone.

I’m just wondering if anyone here has experienced an injury like this and what the recovery process was like specifically related shooting a bow? How long did it take to get back to shooting your normal draw weight, and what  are the difficulties you experienced?
