Orion recurve opinions wanted
« on: October 18, 2010, 12:07:00 AM »
I just ordered a set of recurve limbs for my Orion. I have 58" 53# longbow limbs and I love the bow. I thought I'd try a set of 56" recurve limbs for the ground blind.

I'd appreciate hearing from anyone with these limbs: performance, noise, likes/dislikes you might have. I'm kind of debating the weight. I ordered them with bamboo cores, which Mike says will boost speed by 6-8 fps over the standard actionwood limbs. I'd like to stay with the same arrow/broadhead setup as my longbow limbs. I ordered 50# limbs, but my cousin thinks they will still be too heavy, that 47-48 would be closer. I emailed Mike, but haven't heard back from him yet. Any thoughts along these lines would also be appreciated.

Russ,

50 should be fine.  Might be a bit faster then the longbow but the arrows should still be in the ballpark.
