A few buddies and me would like to do a hog hunt. Any suggestions for some good solid hunts that won't empty the pocket to bad and have good success. A place with a hot shower and good bed would be nice also.
Thanks, Sam

Sam, I'm not sure what price ranges people are seeking when they don't want it to empty their pockets or when they are looking for a reasonable hunt cost. Are you wanting a guided hunt with an outfitter or are you interested in a DIY hunt? I don't know mileage wise how far Ray Hammond is from you, but I think he offers hunts that won't break the bank account and are quite reasonable. When you say "good success" in harvesting a hog I 'm not sure whether you are looking for a hunt that guarantees success or a place where whether you harvest a hog or not you come out with an enjoyable experience. Can you be more precise in what you are looking for and what you consider economical?

Hey Ron,
just lookin for a 2 or 3 day hunt DIY style. We're not lookin for guarantees, only to come home with having a good time with friends.  It would be nice to hunt a place that had a lot of game, since hog hunts are usually only a few days and would better the chance of killin one.  Would also be good to be able to kill more than one if ya have the chance.  As far a transportation, flying is fine since we are all in different states.  Rays place is only about 4.5 hrs from me.  We have been lookin at TX mainly. Price wise, would like to keep the whole trip under $1000.

Sam, get in touch with Curtis Kellar of 7th Age in Texas. I think his operation may be just what you are looking for. I know there are numerous places in Texas that offer hog hunts and you may want to shop around since hog hunting is year round in Texas on private land. Good luck to you guys and may you fill the freezer full.

For a do it yourself hunt check our Fort Stewart, GA.

You can also shoot RC a PM as he hunts there all the time with really good success.

Also there are many WMA that hold hogs here and as long as there is a season of some kind in you can hunt them.

Again RC knows some of these WMA's inside and out.

PM me if you want to try Florida hog hunting.
Fly into either Ft Lauderdale, or Miami from there about an hour to 1.5 hrs by car.
Very reasonable price, lots of hogs.
