Sunday thoughts, 23 Oct

I love to see pictures of bows, the hand made ones either by pros or those here that just wanted to make their own. Especially the close ups of the risers. We see the choices the bowyer made choosing what looked good, and the deep grains that complement one another. The main risers with the accenting stripes, be it bright red with a ebony stripe or Nearly white maple with brown curls and a wavy, firey, bocote accent. The combinations can go on and one, just about the riser, not to mention the limbs under clear glass. I'm always amazed at the workmanship when I see it. Hours must be pour into them. But we do the easy part, at the same time also get all the praise and somtimes critisism. Now think of all the effort we do to make that bow. Now think of where that wood came from. We didn't make the wood. The wood was created, simply by the voice of God wanting it to come into exsistance. All of it, no two pieces the same, make into this beautiful network of grains and colors. So next time we see a picture, give the credit to the man with the rasp, but remember to give God the thanks for where the true beauty came from.

Thanks for the thoughts Mike.  So much truth in what you say.  When I make a self bow, I think about that and it makes the whole process have much more meaning.

will we realize that we cannot eat money
