I have one but I used a cheap poly tarp instead. Good for shade but being that high up I wouldn't call it a shelter.

Danny, Look up buckskinng and you will find a bunch of different types of canvas tents.

If you don't have any luck try "talkingbear.com" then go to the photo gallery that should keep you busy for awhile looking at all the different camps and suff. Great site!!  :D

Let me know if thats what your looking for.

Canvas painters tarps work to but you need to treat them for water. Lots of cool idea's out there.

I would be hoping it didn't rain the whole time I had something like that up.

Without some heavy duty slope, water is going to turn that "shelter" into a bota bag.

The beauty of canvas is that it does not sweat-which makes it ideal for tents. Those structures are a better made from tarps-canvas offers no advantage in those shelters-like Jeff pointed out.

When I was in the Marines our shelter half tents were canvas and we suffered in all types of weather in them.I go camping a lot and always have some sort of lean-to built.
Some people live an entire lifetime and wonder if they have ever made a
difference in the world, but the Marines don’t have that problem.
