Checked both those bows now and the one marked 42# draws 45# at my 30 inch draw. The one marked 40# pulls 47# at my 30 inch draw. Just shows that unless you weigh them you can never be sure where you are at.

I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42

Hey, Sam

Call Chris or Eric at the Archers Nook in Ontario. They have two Chek-Mate Hunter III's, one is 46 and the other 48. I have shot one of these bows and they are very smooth. I would go for the 48 if I were you.
